Communication Diagnostics for Organizations

Most consultants ask how your team is working together. We ask something different: does what your leadership intends to communicate match what your organization actually understands, believes, and does next?

The People Praxis offers three ways to start closing that gap — from a five-minute self-assessment to a full organizational diagnostic.

Meaning Readiness Snapshot

For: Any leader who wants a fast read on whether their organization may be at risk for meaning misalignment.

A five-question self-assessment that surfaces early signals — where leadership intent may be diverging from how it's actually landing across the organization. Free, immediate, and built to be the first honest data point, not a diagnosis.

Format: Five-question online assessment.

Timeline: Immediate.

You get: A readiness result and a recommendation for next steps.

For: Leaders who have one specific message, announcement, or decision they suspect didn't land the way it was intended — and want to know why before the next one goes out.

We take a single high-stakes organizational message — a restructuring announcement, a values rollout, a policy change — and compare what leadership intended it to mean against how it was actually understood, interpreted, and acted on across the organization. This is a contained, fast-turnaround engagement, not the full diagnostic.

Timeline: Two to three weeks.

Includes: Leadership intent brief, anonymous interpretation survey, findings summary, and a short leadership debrief.

The Meaning Gap Diagnostic

The Meaning Gap Diagnostic

For: Executive Directors, CHROs, and Chiefs of Staff who know something isn't landing across the organization — but can't yet see where, or why leadership keeps assuming alignment that doesn't exist.

This is the core diagnostic: a structured, four-to-six-week engagement that tests how leadership intent moves through your organization and where it changes along the way. We measure it across seven dimensions — message clarity, trust influence, interpretive alignment, psychological safety, implication perception, feedback loop strength, and action readiness — using a Leadership Intent Brief alongside an anonymous employee Meaning Mapping Survey.

Timeline: Four to six weeks.

Includes: Kickoff, message selection, leadership intent briefs, anonymous employee survey, optional interviews, full analysis, Meaning Gap Scorecard, leadership debrief, and a recommendations roadmap. Best for: Organizations where communication is affecting trust, morale, change management, or execution at the organizational level — not a single team's dynamics.

Not sure which one fits?
